Here are more reasons why you shouldn't pop pimples, and what you should be doing instead.
1. You’re slowing your body's healing process
Acne is your body’s response to blocked pores and bacteria — that bump means your bod is doing something about it. Pimples are your body’s way of saying that it’s time to heal. Pimples are a collection of bacteria and other things that need to get out of your body. Popping it, makes it and your other pore more vulnerable to becoming worse.
2. You’ll tear your skin
In most cases, you're tearing your skin when you push your pimples content out. If this doesn't result in a scar, it will at least leave you with an open wound.
3. You risk an infection or a bigger bump
If you don't end up forcing the bacteria and oil down further more, you'd probably end up bringing in more dirt and bacteria then what was there before. This, in turn, can cause an infection, which is worse than a pimple! Or an inflammation, which will make your bump even bigger.
4. You might create more pimple
The bacteria and oil you pop out, can spread into your skin pores, and create even more acne. Ever notice that a second pimple often pops up in the place of one you just popped
5. Scars and scabs
As mentioned, when you pop a pimple, you tear your skin, spread bacteria and cause inflammation. All these things can also up your risk of leaving a scar. Which is even more difficult and more expensive to get rid of in comparison to a pimple which naturally heal within 3 to 7 days.
